How about 7.5 million entries in 30 languages? The free online dictionary at LOGOS must be seen and tried to be believed.
The Galaxy Directory has a nice collection of on-line multilingual dictionaries which can be found at http://www.einet.net/galaxy/Reference.html
Babelfish.AltaVista has an on-line plain-text translator at http://babelfish.altavista.digital.com/cgi-bin/translate. In my experience this works to 80%, but that's far from good enough...
